Drunk Drivers Killing People

January 31st, 2008: Glenn Phillips

During the last several months we have looked at several cases where multiple people have been killed in automobile accidents as a result of drunk drivers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration estimates that of the 42,000 people killed in automobile accidents, approximately 17,000 were victims of alcohol related accidents.

Their can be many culpable entities and individuals. The drunk driver who caused the accident, a bar that may have over served, a person or company who negligently entrusted an automobile to a obviously intoxicated individual.

There are several ways an injured person can recover just compensation. First, we look to the drunk drivers insurance company. Many time this first level of insurance is not enough. Second, we look to the injured own insurance company for uninsured and underinsured benefits. Third, we always check where the alcohol was consumed to determine whether there was any over service issues (dram shop liability) or sometime homeowners will over serve guests or minors, giving rise to potential liability.

If you or your loved one has been injured or killed by a drunk driver, in an automobile, truck, or motorcycle accident please feel free to contact the attorneys of Phillips and Webster. Phillips and Webster has offices in Seattle, Washington; Bellevue, Washington; and Woodinville, Washington.

Nationwide Recall of NuCel Labs Eye Drops and Eye/Ear Wash Products

January 30th, 2008: Glenn Phillips

NuCel Labs of Idaho Falls, Idaho announced today that it is conducting a voluntary nationwide recall of all Eye Drops and Eye/Ear Wash. This recall follows an FDA inspection in which product testing indicated that there was bacteria and particulate matter in the product deeming these products non-sterile. Non-sterile eye drops pose an unacceptable risk of causing eye infections, which in rare cases could lead to blindness.

Products are packaged in 1/4 oz plastic bottles. Eye drops are labeled: Eye Drops Caution: Do Not Use With Implants. Wash is labeled Eye/Ear Wash. All products labeled “Eye Drops Caution: Do Not Use With Implants” or “Eye/Ear Wash” are subject to the recall action. There are no lot numbers or expiration dates on the product. Approximately 500 units of these products have been distributed nationwide through retail outlets and the internet.

If you have had any problems with the NuCel Lab Products please contact our lawyers.
