Lynnwood – Shortly before 5:30 pm on Saturday, a 13 year old boy stood with other pedestrians on the corner and waited to cross Highway 99 near 148th Street. Cars in nearby lane were stopped and waved him to cross. The boy and the group of other pedestrians began to cross from the east side to the west side of Highway 99 when the boy was hit by a car.
The boy was transported by ground to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The driver of the car, a 48 year-old Edmonds man, stopped when the accident occurred and was not hurt in the event. There has been no further report by authorities as to the welfare of the boy or charges against the Edmonds driver.
